Unit 2



The controlled assessment will run from Summer Term Year 10 to February Half Term Year 11.

This will consist of the following topics.

Analysis of task

Research.

Consumer survey.

Analysis of information gathered.

Design criteria.

Generating and developing design ideas.

Product appraisal.

Further investigation and product development.

Food product trials and testing.

Planning the making – production schedule.

Making.

Quality finish.

Sensory analysis.

Designing for manufacture.

Evaluation and testing.

A guide will be given to the students at the beginning of the controlled assessment.

The remainder of the time will be given over to exam preparation.
