Students complete the following common assessments in RE at Key Stage 3.

Year 7
Unit 1 – Introduction to RE – Research task and symbol design
Unit 2 – Pilgrimage – Will Rahema go on the Hajj? (Completed in class)
Unit 3 – Special Places – Assessment completed during contolled conditions in class
Units 4/5 – The Life of Jesus – Response to events in Jesus’ life
Unit 6 – Sikhism – A task focusing on the Sikh community
Unit 7 – Patterns in Life – TBC

Year 8
Unit 1 – Belief and Creed – A hunger cloth and personal creed.
Unit 2 – A study of Hindusim – Essay and model/picture about Hindu worship
Unit 3 – Body Beautiful – TBC
Unit 4 – Death and the Afterlife – A prepared controlled conditions activity
Unit 5 – A study of Buddhism – A museum guide to a selection of Buddhist artefacts
Unit 6 – People who inspire – Research and presentation about someone who inspires

Year 9
Unit 1  – Creation – A comparison of two creation stories – literacy focus.
Unit 2 – Philosophy – How did we get here? – An essay answering the key topic question
Unit 3 – A study of Judaism – A controlled conditions activity in a lesson
Unit 4 – Prejudice and Discrimination – The Holocaust – Students will select an assignment from a range of choices
Unit 5 – Issues in Islam – Muslim Diversity (a homework and classroom task)
