Year 8

Year 8 students have 1 double Art lesson each fortnight. They follow this programme:
‘Distorted World’ Cubist Still Life and protraits

In this unit students learn about Cubist art movements and contemporary artists inspired by this tradition.

By the end of this unit it is expected that all students will be able to recognise the characteristics of Cubist still life paintings and portraits. Students will explore cubist techniques through a series of still life studies using drawing and use mixed media techniques to crate a cubist portrait. Students will then develop their ceramics skills by designing and making a clay relief or pot using slab building techniques.

Key Assessments
