In this unit students learn about Surrealist art and creating an abstract and imaginative piece of art. This includes tonal drawing and painting techniques, painting, mixing and brush techniques, being creative and original and analysing and evaluating art.
By the end of this unit it is expected that all students will understand how to produce a piece of imaginative Surrealist art. This will involve manipulating form and scale to create an original, refined sketchbook design for a painted final piece and then producing it.
The sketchbook and final piece are assessed.
