Students find this strategy helpful for remembering vocabulary or short facts.
I have used this successfully to help students memorise Bible quotations for the GCSE Philosophy and Ethics course.
Use an A4 sheet folded in half length-ways.image
The top section is cut to create lift-up flaps.
On the top write the clue or question, underneath the flap write the answer:
“resurrection” – the belief that Jesus rose from the dead after his crucifixion.
Matthew 22:39 – “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.”
Pictures, symbols, words, quotations and other prompts can all be used.
