Speed dating can be used:
To help recall knowledge
To revise key ideas
To help answer extended exam questions
Split the class into two groups. Half of the class sits at a desk, the other half of the class moves around the desks. The stationary students have one question each (including the model answer) and the moving students have to explain how they would answer the question, this could be run with some music as a timer, e.g. you have until the song finishes to answer. Halfway through the lesson the students swap roles so everyone has a chance to answer different questions.
Cards need to be produced with a question on one side and an answer on the back – broken down into different facts/keywords (example given below).
Your classroom needs to be set up so the students are in a line with one facing the other.
