Produce a net of 7 hexagons (template below), each with an image at the centre. Each hexagon relates to the one in the middle.
Students’ first task is to describe what each hexagon shows and explain how it links to the middle hexagon.
The second task is to extend their thinking by explaining how each hexagon links to the others it is connected to on either side.
You will need scissors, glue and 2 different coloured pens or pencils.
1.Cut out the hexagon as one whole shape.
2.Stick the cut-out shape in the middle of a double page in your exercise book
3.Add labels to the shape to describe what each hexagon shows and explain how it links to the middle hexagon (colour one).
4.Add labels (colour two) to explain how each hexagon links to the other hexagons that it touches.
