The Black Death – an end or a new beginning?

The unit focuses on the significance of the Black Death and investigates to what extent life was changed after it. Students will develop better understanding of the beliefs of the time, the limitations of medical knowledge and some awareness of the consequences of the Black Death

EXPECTATIONS FOR THE UNIT:

Most children will be able to explain what the Black Death was and reach supported conclusions as to why it was so devastating

Some children will not have made so much progress and will be able to describe the key features of the Black Death

Some children will have progressed further and will be able to prioritise some of the consequences of the Black Death support theories regarding its possible benefits
