Roman Theatre / Singular and Plural

Students will learn about the size and shape of Roman theatres and the convention of Roman drama. We will act out some plays. We will begin our exploration of singulars and plurals.

By the end of this unit it is expected that all students will: recognise some features of a Roman theatre and will recognise plural nouns in the nominative case and third person plural verb endings.

Most students will:  read and understand Latin stories using plurals.

Some learners will have progressed further and will:  use the web site to cement their understanding of grammar and vocabulary. Take part in the inter-school play reading competition.

How to help your child

Come and support their child in the Latin play reading competition if they are taking part. Remind your child of any Roman remains they may have seen on holiday. St Albans has a very fine remains of a Roman theatre and is well worth a visit.
