In KS4 students have 9 maths lessons per fortnight. The students will sit a linear exam (year 10 201/2013) or either the linear or modular exam (year 11 2012/2013)

Year 10 students are following the course as though it was modular in order for the school to accurately assess their performance.

They will study

Unit 2 September to March

Unit 1 March to July

Unit 3 Throughout Year 11

Unit 2:

  • Year 10 (Sept to following March)
  • Unit 1 forms 30% of the final modular GCSE.

Unit 1:

  • Year 10/11 (March to July)
  • Unit 2 forms 30% of the final modular GCSE.

Unit 3:

  • Year 11 (September to following June)
  • Unit 3 forms 40% of the final modular GCSE.

  • Unit 2 Mock exam – July of Year 10
  • Unit 2 GCSE Exam – November of Year 11
  • Calculator NOT allowed.

  • Unit 3 Mock exam – February of Year 11
  • Unit 3 GCSE exam – June of Year 11
  • Calculator allowed.
